Events
SchoolPower has a number of annual fundraising events along with an annual Community Campaign:
- Community Campaign / Fall 2007 - By February 2008, generous parents and community members pledged and donated $ 460K to the Community Campaign, raising more money than ever before! Although the Community Campaign phone drive is over, SchoolPower's fundraising efforts for Laguna Beach school children never end. Community Campaign donations received by April 1st will be included in the Spring 2008 Annual Report.
- The Claes Dinner / October 1st, 2007 - The 2007 Claes Dinner "Beachfront with Friends" was another incredible success. A sell-out crowd of over 350 school district supporters dined on a delectable 5 course meal paired with select wines from Claes Andersen’s personal wine cellar. 100% of the ticket proceeds, totaling more than $23K, benefited the schools. Thanks to the unsurpassed generosity of Mr. Andersen, in hosting and sponsoring this event every year, parents and community members can look forward to another unforgettable evening in Fall of 2008.
- SchoolPower Golf Classic / November 5th, 2007 - Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, volunteers and the fantastic leadership of Golf Chairs Barbara Crane and Jerry Hayden, the 2007 Golf Classic was enjoyed tremendously by all who attended. The event raised over $60K for SchoolPower, including $15K that was specifically earmarked for the Laguna Beach High School Athletic Boosters.
- Dinner Dance / Saturday, March 1st, 2008 - Thanks to Montage Laguna Beach, this year's event will feature an unprecedented Culinary Experience with acclaimed chef James Boyce of Studio at Montage and guest celebrity chef Michel Richard of Citronelle in Washington, D.C. The Annual SchoolPower Dinner Dance, SchoolPower's largest fundraising event, will feature a Cocktail Reception, Silent & Live Auctions, Chefs’ inspired multi-course dinner with wine pairings and entertainment by the Blues Offenders.
